I thought that I had pretty much got a good understanding of mobile casinos while performing the reviews for Mobilecasinofaq, what options you could expect for what devices. The growing trend among the mobile casino developers has been to create mobile casino sites in HTML5, so that they could be accessed by any web browser from any device. Simple really and certainly for us players, as all we really want is somewhere good to play on our mobile devices and get a consistent experience.
32Red are renown in online casino circles for providing good quality games,a great playing experience and provide fantastic support. So when I first reviewed the mobile casino in 2012 I was glad that they had a simple but market leading product.
Whilst I’ve continued to play at 32red, I really haven’t gone back until now to look at the enhancements. So what have I found?
Well, one thing is obvious: 32Red’s mobile casino is trying to be all things to all mobile devices, but hasn’t quite got across the message as to what you can expect depending on which mobile device you use. It’s only when you visit the lobby do you really begin to understand what is or isn’t available for your device. That said, they have added a slew of new mobile slot games and most are available on most devices now.
So, in this updated review I’ll explain what you can expect for your device and which games are available. If you are using the 32red website you will see mobile devices are described in 3 ways. Mobile Phones – These are non Android, IOS phones & RIM devices, such as Windows 8 and proprietary phones. Android/iPhone/Tablet – as it says on the tin. BlackBerry – well, Blackberry. This is important to know because some facilities are only available for certain device types.
There are 3 options for playing at the 32Red mobile casino.
- Browser based HTML5 website – This has 40 instant play games (see below) and is available to Mobile Phones, Android/iPhone/Tablet & BlackBerry Devices. This is very similar to the instant play sites you will find at Jackpot City and Roxy Palace mobile casinos.
- Downloadable App – For the Iphone this is available at the Itunes App store (and has the same 40 games as Instant Play) and for the Android (this has 34 games – see below) and is only available from Slideme or Getjar. You won’t find it on Google Play! This is not available to Mobile or BlackBerry users.
- Download individual games to your Device – This is only available to BlackBerry users.
The confusing thing on the website is that you are led to believe that everything is available for every device. Trust me it’s not and I’ve taken the time to speak to the nice support people to confirm this and to give them some constructive feedback. Lets hope they change it!

What’s it like to play?
My first tip: If you don’t click the option to auto login, every time you come out of a game and go into another you have to logon. A nice touch if security is important to you or you have kids around that like to play with your mobile or tablet but annoying if not!
The on-screen navigation is slick and pretty intuitive, nicely presented and clean, I really do not like busy screens where you have to read loads, I like to get on and play, so the 32Red mobile casino layout is perfect for me 🙂 This is nicely optimised for mobile and / or tablet devices.
I played both versions of the 32Red mobile casino with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Galaxy S3 smartphone, both android devices while my colleague found the interface equally pleasing on his iPad.
The Galaxy Tab coped well with playing in both landscape and portraits modes, however the Galaxy S3 did not render the screen on landscape mode and was unplayable on some browsers. You may need to try Google Chrome, Firefox or the default phone browser as there are clearly differences. I don’t know if it was my handset, but on first play it hung the device and I had to switch it off to clear it.
Verdict – Putting aside the initial confusion, I found the games to be good and as always support from 32Red is excellent. Play the 32Red mobile casino on a tablet if you can as the smartphone experience could give you mixed results and is not as slick as I would have expected. On an android tablet or iPad though, the casino is excellent.
